Papa Mac purchased this 1890s stone farm house and defunct dairy as a get away from it all. His personal Easy street. He promptly improved the farm house and added a studio and cottage. Soon after he added a pool, the first in the county. His wife, Edith, a painter, inspired and was the driving force to found the Hill Country Arts Foundation down the road. Along with assistance founding the art club and garden league, the family became a part of the area's history. Throughout the years multiple generations of the family have lived at Bumblebee Lodge and continued her legacy at the Hill Country Arts Foundation. R. B. McAshan purchased this House in 1945. It is currently owned by his 3 grandchildren, Rocky, Perry and John.
