After 50 years on this planet I have found the best place to live: Manuel Antonio Costa Rica !

I was born in Belgium and by the age of 11 the 'travelling' began ! I spent 20 year in England which were wonderful but destiny attracted me to this piece of paradise. I met my wife Luz who is Costa Rican and we got married on the Manuel Antonio beach in 2003.

We now have 2 children aged 13 and 4 and feel very much at home in this country.

We enjoy looking after our guests and being onsite in Manuel Antonio has its advantages.

Beautiful home

We just finished a week at this gorgeous home. There were 8 of us- 2 adults and 6 kids (5 of them teens). There was more than enough room for everyone! It was clean and had modern amenities. The highlight of the home is the view. OMG. The porch and pool had the most amazing views. The home itself wasn’t air conditioned but honestly even on the hottest day, it wasn’t that bad. There was always a cool breeze on the porch and the pool was amazingly refreshing and the bedrooms were more than cool. Natalia the house manager was awesome. She will give you recommendations on excursions (we did them all and enjoyed them very much). She will also food shop for you and even had a yummy lunch and cold beers ready for us on arrival as we were all famished upon arrival. I will say this.... I was torn on weather or not to rent a car or rely on taxis and a shuttle service to and from the airport. The house is secluded and the road leading to it is very, very steep and not paved! We are a familiar of 8 so had to rent a 12 passenger van to fit us all- none of them are 4 wheel drive and I worried every time we tried to get up that hill, especially when it was rainy. Forget walking to the main road to walk around. It’s too far and too steep but you can easily call taxis and they will come to the villa to pick you up and take you anywhere. And all of the excursions include transportation to and from the villa so honestly if I had to do it again I wouldn’t have had a car. Now if you are several families and can rent a couple of 4x4s that may be ok. That’s just my opinion. As I said the house itself was stunning. Even the most cynical kids loved it and appreciated the view. We had toucans knocking on our window and were amused for hours by a family of squirrel monkeys who visited the back porch. They were so cute!!! Oh! And definitely treat yourself to chef Cornelius. He cooked us a breakfast and a dinner that even the picky eaters were raving about!! It was a little pricy but worth it.

This house is great. It has a very peaceful and relaxing setting. There were 8 of ranging from 20 - 58, we celebrated a birthday, went fishing and did some tours. Natalia, the house manager, was wonderful. She was extremely helpful and accommodating with everything. She set up breakfasts and one dinner at the house, and Chef Carlos was so awesome. We had monkeys, toucans, iguanas & macaws all around us, with spectacular views. The only downfall is the steep road to the house and we had to take taxi’s everywhere we went.

Wonderful Stay

We had an amazing stay in Costa Rica! Quepos is a wonderful area to vacation. The house is situated on a hill, private and a breathtaking view. In all it was 6 of us (3 couples) and we had plenty of space. Could have definitely fit 2 more couples comfortably. The house is absolutely beautiful as well. Natalie the house manager prearranged everything for us- private chef, massages at the house and our excursions (jet skis, zipline, atvs). They picked us up at the house. She even had the refrigerator stocked with our favorite foods when we got there. The local grocery store even delivered groceries to the house for us. Infinity pool was refreshing and beautiful! Everyday the monkeys greeted us at the back terrace (very cool). We also saw plenty of parrots, toucans and other exotic birds. Iguanas and lots of geicos. This was the perfect place to stay and we will definitely stay here during our next visit to Costa Rica. Thanks Natalie for being a great host. The only complaint is we didnt stay enough days ( 5 nights, 6 days)! Pura Vida!

Our family of 7 adults traveled to Costa Rica for the first time and stayed at Casa El Salta. We had a fabulous time! The house is beautiful and the view is even more spectacular! The 5 bedrooms and 4 bath set up worked very well for our family. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked several meals there. The outdoor living space with the pool is where we spent most of our time. It was just perfect. Natalia, the property manager and concierge is the sweetest person and so so helpful. She was flexible and accommodating when our flight caused us to be 5 hours later in arrival than we had planned. She offered many get suggestions for dining out which were all winners. She scheduled our zip line experience with a great company and we had a wonderful time doing that adventure. She scheduled a chef to come to the house and he cooked a fabulous 30th birthday celebratory dinner for us. We spent a day at the beach club she suggested and had a perfect day there. We also needed a driver to take a few of the family members to the airport earlier than the rest of the group and she arranged those accommodations for us as well. Natalia definitely helped to make our trip top notch. Coastal Rica is a wonderful country! I would say be prepared to drive on very steep and unpaved roads. I would also suggest four wheel drive. We rented a big passenger van because we had 7 people and it was a challenge a few times on the steep roads. All in all we had a great time. The house and service was top notch! We would go back for sure! Thanks again! #purevida

This house is beautiful!

We absolute loved staying at Oliviers home in Quepos. We traveled with a group of 4 couples and there were no complaints from anyone. The views of the forest were incredible. Natalia was very easy to communicate with and even set up last minute massages for some of us, at the home. It’s a 10 minutes drive to manual Antonio and some fun restaurants. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
