Cabhalan Cottage is an ideal location for those seeking an 'away-from-it-all' holiday. A cosy modernised crofthouse dating from the early 1800s with wi-fi broadband internet in a secluded, peaceful spot 100 metres from the seashore and enjoying uninterrupted views across the sea to Skye, the Cuillins and the west coast of Scotland (as well as views of many otters on the shore below). The nearest house is half a mile away in each direction and there is a small sheltered bay with anchorage behind the cottage. The nearest post office is in Leverburgh (6 miles) where there is a very well stocked grocery shop, cafe and gift shop. Built around 1840 the single storey cottage was originally a 'blackhouse' and has walls up to 5 feet (1.5 metres) thick! Fully renovated, it now has all mod-cons, lots of character and is a simple but comfortable dwelling. Fully controllable electric central heating is provided via radiators, and double glazing makes it very cosy. Hot water is also provided by an electric immersion heater. This is all included in the rental price. |
