The Longford Hideaway Greathouse is an historic Danish plantation home built in 1760 and completely renovated after Hurricane Hugo. A new kitchen was installed in 2013. The Greathouse sleeps 2-6 adults in three bedrooms. The Greathouse is accessed up a short flight of stairs (it is an historic building, unfortunately not wheelchair accessible).
Inside the Greathouse
Your every convenience has been carefully thought out at Longford Hideaway. You will find the Greathouse to be fully appointed; opening a kitchen cabinet finds complete pan and dish sets, a peek in the hall closet reveals a tidy organization of linens and basic cleanup tools.
The master bedroom is equipped with air conditioning, but we prefer the more restful ceiling fans or simply letting the trade winds lull you to sleep with the sound of the ocean in your room.
Many of the original artworks you’ll find decorating the Greathouse are made by family members and other local Crucian artists.
Outside space
We’ve surrounded the buildings at Longford with plantings, trees, orchids, covered deck areas, and patio furniture so you can maximize your enjoyment of the Caribbean weather. St. Croix is nearly always 85 degrees and sunny.
Eat in or out: inside at the dining table or kitchen counter, or have a barbeque on the gas grill and eat outside on the large wraparound Gallery (tiled, covered porch)!
Enjoy sunrises and moonrises over the gardens from the wraparound Gallery and Pool deck.

A 50?posit is required to hold your reservation. We require a minimum stay (charge) of 7 days.
Your deposit will be refunded if a LOW SEASON reservation is cancelled 30 days prior to booked arrival date, less a cancellation fee: Greathouse $150, .

SURCHARGES
One-time housekeeping prep charges apply. Consider staying longer!
Greathouse: $150 for 1 bedroom, $250 for 2 bedrooms, $350 for 3 bedrooms.
Cottage: $100 for one or two guests (plus $10 per additional guest).
Air conditioning: $30 extra per week ($5/day) per unit. (The Greathouse has one A/C unit, in the master bedroom; the cottage has two A/C units, one in the living area and one in the bedroom.)
Please note: Pricing on the A/C is for a 12 hour per day maximum. Unit(s) should be shut off when leaving or at night. Use of the A/C is an option, not a necessity. Both the Cottage and the Greathouse have sufficient shade, natural breezes, ventilation and fans to satisfy the average comfort requirement. Most guests do not use the A/C, and we personally do not use air conditioning in line with our mission statement.
Self-serve Laundry: $1.50 per load. Line dry in the Caribbean sunshine! Unless extenuating circumstances emerge, guests will be provided with a single set of linens for the duration of their stay.
A 12.5% USVI Room Tax will be added to your final bill.

Thank you so much for opening your little piece of heaven for us to share. Luca was a wonderful host. We truly enjoyed the peaceful solitude and loved all of the animals. If you should ever find yourself in Texas please let us know so that we may have an opportunity to return your hospitality.
It seems like yesterday we were last here. That’s how it is with good friends. We had a wonderful time revisiting our favorite beaches – Grapetree, and Great Pond Bay. We had so much rest and relaxation, we will be in shock when we get back home. When we come back again we hope to be here for the “Jump Up” festival. We will be back!
Alisha & I certainly have enjoyed our stay. It went by too fast, that’s our only complaint. We needed a break from work, school and the many hassles we face at home. We found that in this quiet, quaint spot of the island. Thank you for opening your hearts and home to us. We will come again, perhaps next year. Til then – God Bless and take care

The stay was amazing – from your incredible hospitality to the beautiful island as a whole. The beaches were beautiful – two of which were soooo close and became ‘ours’ while we were using them!! …it was such a needed vacation with all the tranquility we needed just here at the cottage and pool – everything else was a bonus! We have been so happy to call the Longford Hideaway home for the past two weeks! It is wonderful to stay in such a warm and real environment full of the real island – I don’t think we would have been nearly as happy in a hotel! We have eaten, slept and swam our way to happiness… We will always remember our first anniversary!
