About
Welcome to our beautiful Journey's End home, the ultimate Captiva Island vacation retreat. Journey's End is a stunning, three bedroom +, two bath 2000 sq ft villa that will comfortably sleep 2 - 8, located in the very desirable village area of world renowned Captiva Island. Journey's End is our family's second home and given that we live in Miami, we are blessed to be able to spend a great deal of time there. Because we are there so often, we have elevated the home to the highest possible standards with respect to comfort, quality and range of amenities. Recently refurnished and professionally decorated, our beautiful, three bedroom beach home is located in the heart of charming Captiva Island, an easy five minute walk to the village area of Captiva. Many lovely upgrades, such as porcelain tile, plush carpeting, French doors and plantation shutters just to name a few. Our home features a spacious, fully equipped kitchen with luxury stainless steel appliances including a side by side refrigerator/freezer with ice and water in the door, ceramic topped range and large over the range microwave. Since this our family's second home, we provide items not usually found in the kitchen of a typical 'rental home'. Here we provide you with a new coffee maker with a plentiful supply of high quality Colombian coffee, non dairy coffee creamer and two types of sweetener (sugar and splenda) . You will also be glad to know that you won't need to purchase salt or pepper, herbs and spices, foil paper, foil trays, saran wrap or paper towels. Hungry? Use our Panini sandwich maker to prepare a delicious hot sandwich to satisfy the afternoon munchies or use our Belgian waffle maker to prepare fresh waffles in the morning. |

About
The house and property were beautiful. Loved that the pool and beach were a short walk from the house and Omar had everything that you needed. Having the restaurants within walking distance was great. Our almost 2 year old walked everywhere with us. No stroller needed.
We had a wonderful time. We loved the location of the house, and the house itself was great. Everything was clean and well maintained. We went to the beach every day and really appreciated that it was only a short walk (5 minutes) and also private. The beach and Gulf water was pristine and after our endless cold weather, it was wonderful. We saw manatees right off the beach. Sunsets were awesome. We didn’t use the kayaks or paddle boards this time, but would in the future. The beach cart was very helpful. We enjoyed having coffee on the screened porch in the mornings. We liked Journey’s End because it was quiet , well landscaped for privacy and everyone we met was friendly. We walked to several of the restaurants (Key Lime Bistro, Mucky Duck and also the Green Flash) and the food was very good at all of them. We also liked being able to walk to the Island Store for a newspaper and other small items. We loved Captiva Island! We also spent time at Ding Darling refuge on nearby Sanibel. Even though it wasn’t the peak of spring migration,we saw a bald eagle and an Osprey nest with fledglings. We enjoyed lunch at Grandma Dot's on Sanibel. Omar was very helpful and provided good directions to get from the airport to the house. He also checked in with us when we arrived to be sure we had everything we needed, which we appreciated. We would definitely rent this home again .
The property was perfect for our family...super location, love the screened in porch and all the amenities provided, i.e. beach chairs, stand up paddle boards, etc.
We stayed for 2 weeks over Easter 2018 with our daughter, son in law and two grandchildren aged 4 and 2. We have been coming to Captiva for almost 20 years and it was a delight to introduce this very special island to our family. The accommodation was perfect for us. In particular, we would like to mention the high quality bathrooms, very comfortable beds and lots of screened outside space. Sunset Captiva has a beautiful pool area and bbqs both of which we used daily. Other highlights obviously include the spectacular beach and sea only yards away and over the road our favourite Jensen’s Marina with manatees and fabulous birds. We took a boat trip from Jensen’s and had close encounters with the dolphins and a trip around North Captiva. Special thanks to the owner of 26 Sunset Captiva, Omar, who ensured our stay was trouble free.
We stayed for 2 weeks at this lovely home along with our daughter, son in law and 2 grandchildren (age 4 and 2). The house was perfect for our stay. Special mention for the very comfortable beds, screened porches and beach equipment. We have been coming to Captiva for almost 20 years and this is one of the nicest properties we have rented. Sunset Captiva is central to the village and we made use of the superb pool facilities and bbqs. A couple of minutes walk to the beach in one direction and Jensen’s Marina in the other. We had a marvellous boat trip from Jensen’s to see the dolphins. It was one of many highlights. We loved to eat at Doc Fords on the South Seas resort and Gramma Dots at Sanibel Marina.
