White Rocks is a classic New England shingle style summer cottage on the salt water in mid-coast Maine. The scenic vistas from the cottage are what sets White Rocks apart. The cottage overlooks a large bay and has spectacular views of islands, lighthouses, and the rocky coastline. White Rocks has a screened porch and a deck that both overlook the water, as well as a private dock for boating, kayaking, fishing and swimming.
The cottage is in excellent condition and is nicely furnished with a combination of antiques and modern furniture. Every room in the cottage has authentic wide plank wood floors and water views. White Rocks has all the necessities, including a lobster cooking pot and a gas barbecue grill on the deck.
The cottage has two upstairs bedrooms. The main bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed, and the second bedroom has two twin beds. A full sized sofa bed in the living room will sleep two people. White Rocks has a full kitchen, a separate dining room, a spacious downstairs bathroom with a full shower, and a cozy living room. The cottage has a flat panel HDTV, a DVD player and a CD player. White Rocks has electric heat, and the bedrooms have overhead fans. Unlike many rental cottages, sheets, blankets, and towels are provided for guests and the beds are made.
White Rocks is located just steps from the water and has its own picturesque cove. The cottage faces west, so you can enjoy gorgeous sunsets every evening. The cottage also has a large lawn where you can play catch, croquet, or simply sit in the shade. White Rocks is a short drive from Reid State Park, the most beautiful beach in Maine. A free season pass to the park is included with the cottage rental.
The water supply for the cottage is from a private drilled well. The water is regularly tested, is crystal clear and perfectly safe for drinking, cooking, washing dishes, showering, etc. No chemicals that can affect taste, such as chlorine, are added to the water, as is typical with public water supplies. We think the water tastes just fine. Nonetheless, we provide unlimited bottled spring water free of charge to all guests as an additional amenity.
The cottage is available for rent from early May through late October. We rent by the week in June, July, August and September. Shorter rentals may be available in May and late October.

There is nothing quite like this cabin on the ocean inlet. Quiet, peaceful and out of the way from the everyday. We wait all year for the most glorious sunsets, cool breeze and the ocean flavor in the air. The historic city of Bath is just a few miles away. We recommend trying some of the top rated restaurants in the area. This will be our fourth summer at White Rocks. Mark and his family are generous with their hospitality and work hard to provide a unique experience.
White Rocks is the perfect place for a relaxing visit to the beautiful coast of Maine. The cottage has everything you need. The location is lovely. Sitting in the Adirondack chairs watching the sunset across the river while eagles soar overhead, seals bask on rocks, and a Loon wails nearby is perfect. Easy access to Reid State Park, Popham Beach, Bath, etc. The Lyons are delightful and booking was a breeze. We can not wait to return next year.
The long and winding road takes you back in time to a magical cottage where you will find time to think, relax, play games, read, sleep, eat, explore (bike), fish and swim in the nearby state parks (free pass). I even got a chance to watch the Bills play on their tv. Fishing for stripers every morning from my kayak I thought I was in a zoo with seals and eagles everywhere. Our daugher and friends came for one night and said it was the best 24 hours they have ever spent. Thank you Mark and Gerry for sharing this beautiful cottage with all of us. We will be back! Randy Garrett, Fairport, N.Y.
Great authentic cabin atmosphere. Great screened in porch on the edge of the Kennebec gives peaceful mornings. Nearby small harbors, Maine Maritime Museum, the coastal garden are all nearby. Owners great and include thoughtful small items like a park pass to the nearby park.
This cottage is heaven on earth. Beautiful views, private dock and very peaceful. Screened porch facing the river. Close to several dining spots, lighthouses. Pass to Reid State Park included in stay. My sister and I had a wonderful time. Thank you Mark and Gerry Lyons for sharing your cottage with us.
This was our second time to White Rocks and it was just as good the second time around. Even better with the addition of a new dock and a new sofa that arrived during our stay. Mark and Gerri are the perfect hosts, there if you need them but not intrusive. Perfect cottage as a base for local sites or to stay in to relax and enjoy dinner at home. We will be back for our third visit soon!
