Rustic cabin an hour from Chicago, Milwaukee and Rockford but feels like it's in the Northwoods. The cabin is a fully furnished, air conditioned, two bedrooms, kitchen, one bath, quaint cabin with a large fenced in yard. Pets are very welcome. With only a half a block walk to the lake with a private beach, dock, and boat ramp. Too many summer activities to mention. Bring your watercraft! Horseback riding in the area. Adjacent to the Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge with a conservation area 1/2 mile away. Go for a kayak down the Nippersink Creek. Kayak and row boat available upon request. McHenry County's Glacial Park is just 5 miles away. Bring your Sled! Off road parking for your trailer and riding access to McHenry County's snowmobile trails which lead into Wisconsin. I was here for my brother's bachelor with 9 guys total. I really didn't think it was going to hold us all based on the photos, but with reading the other reviews, I gave it a shot. It was perfect size, kitchen was a bit small, but the back yard was way bigger than I thought. Also, Horizontals down the road was a great little bar, with really fun people. I hope to stay here again some time. Also, Ray was great, and responded almost immediately every time I reached out. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Ray the owner was great, the cabin was spacious and clean. We had a group of kids w/ us for baseball and Ray was understanding and accommodating. Would definitely come back.
